The textured Nylon 6,6 yarn is heat-set and scoured to produce an open yarn bundle. The softly crimped filaments blossom to aid in the occlusion of blood vessels.

The yarn can be combined with stents to increase the ability of the emobolic coil to occlude blood vessels.
